What is Fincar used for?

Fincar 5mg tablets are used to treat symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH or benign prostatic hyperplasia) to shrink the prostate as it enlarges and reduce the risk of urine retention due to restricted urine flow. Improving BPH symptoms with Fincar 5mg tablets also reduces the need for surgery. As a side effect of the intended use, Fincar 5mg tablets are also used to treat male pattern hair loss (hereditary alopecia) by increasing hair growth and preventing further hair loss in all areas of the scalp, including the frontal area.

How does Fincar work? 

Fincar 5 mg tablets contain 5 mg of finasteride, which specifically inhibits the action of the enzyme type II 5α-reductase, which converts the male hormone testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), an androgen primarily responsible for the development and growth of the prostate. DHT also causes benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH or benign prostatic hyperplasia) and Fincar 5mg tablets reduce DHT levels in the blood so that prostate growth is no longer stimulated in men with BPH, causing the enlarged prostate to shrink. DHT, which is also found in hair follicles, is an androgen that causes hair loss. This is because the hair follicles on the scalp gradually become smaller and less able to produce hair, which eventually stops coming out of the follicle.

What are the side effects of Fincar?

When should you not use Fincar?

How to take

As recommended by your doctor, you should take Fincar 5 mg tablets (divided 1/4 with water for hair loss) with a glass of water once daily with or without food. Do not chew or open the capsule. This can cause your mouth or throat to hurt. How long does Fincar take? You should continue taking Fincar 5mg tablets for as long as recommended by your doctor. It may last 3 months or more. It may take several months for new hair to grow and hair loss may resume if you do not take Fincar 5mg tablets during this period. If your prostate slowly shrinks and you stop taking Fincar 5mg tablets, it may take more than 6 months for Fincar 5mg tablets to improve your BPH symptoms. If you stop taking Fincar 5mg tablets during this period, your prostate will begin to grow again. Missed dose of Fincar If you miss a dose of Fincar 5 mg tablets, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is time to take your next dose. Do not double dose.

How should I store my Fincar?

Avoid high temperature and humidity and store at room temperature (1 to 30℃).

For safety reasons, keep out of reach of children.

Pills cut with a pill cutter, etc. can be stored under the same conditions, but please take them immediately to prevent denaturation of the active ingredient finasteride.
